ABUKAI at AppNation San Francisco 2011

This year’s AppNation in San Francisco brings together leading “App-erati” and tees up the key issues that are impacting their universe. ABUKAI’s CEO, Philipp Schloter, co-anchored a discussion entitled, “Building the New Enterprise: Deploying Enterprise Apps” on Wednesday, April 27 from 2:20 PM to 2:50 PM as a part of Track 3: MACRO TRENDS ACROSS THE APP ECOSYSTEM. The session is a featured discussion led by Patrick Houston, Editorial Director, NetShelter and featuring Roger Green, Executive Editor, CIO Zone and ABUKAI’s Schloter that frames the questions CIOs are asking as they find that in 2011 their businesses need to deploy apps to stay competitive.

Recent studies show that CIOs not only understand the importance of mobile applications for their companies, but they are taking active steps in 2011 to deploy mobile applications in their businesses. There are several drivers for this trend, but the overarching reason mobile applications are becoming a top priority for CIOs is because they provide substantial cost savings to their companies. Schloter lays out the productivity and integration factors that need to be addressed to maintain and maximize those savings.

Even large enterprises deploy mobile apps...to save money!!!

If you work for a large enterprise and are unsure whether deploying mobile applications like ABUKAI Expenses to improve your productivity is a) something you should do, and b) something you should do now, check out this posting by Eric Lai in his ZDNet Ubermobile blog. He summarizes a study by Kelton Research of companies that generate $100 million or more whether and why they were going to deploy mobile apps this year. 90% said they were (= 250)! And the main reason to do it?  Saving money!

Eric comments,"It’s heartening, as it shows that mobilizing appears to be a fiscally sound strategy, not something something with a pie-in-the-sky ROI." He goes on to share that 2/3 (65%) of respondents said they’ll deploy 5 or more mobile apps this year and 21% say they are deploying 20 or more. He further explains how doing so provides these companies a fast, running start towards mobility that will likely help those companies leapfrog their competitors, the same way that e-business separated the innovators from the laggards.

Interesting reading for those planning to deploy mobile apps. Perhaps a wake up call for those who are not?

Check out TechGeec's sleek YouTube video review of ABUKAI Expenses

David Rocklin, Founder of "TechGeec.com" and "YouTube" Technology reviewer takes ABUKAI Expenses out for a spin and likes what he sees! David's video is excellent in detail and production value so it gives you a great look at how easy ABUKAI Expenses is to set up and use. Check out the video for an up-close look.

We're ecstatic about TechGeec's review! However, we would also like to make a couple of comments to clarify some facts about the commentary. First, ABUKAI is really pronounced a little differently...more like "Ah-Boo-Kai" with the accent on the first syllable. Second, although David is correct that the information is read from the receipt images using sophisticated algorithms and other technologies, there is an optional quality review that can happen in case something doesn't get recognized. This is mainly to address specific issues such as providing support for customers or managing quality.

If you haven't seen ABUKAI Expenses in action, see David's review. Then download the application and try it yourself. Let us know what you think!

ABUKAI Expenses adds expense reports in four new languages!

The business world is shrinking daily. Case in point, regardless of whether an application is created in Frankfurt or Barcelona or Silicon Valley, people everywhere can learn about the application with a simple online search. We feel that the key to success in the global marketplace for applications is the same as the key to success anywhere, that is, respond to customers’ needs.

And so it goes with ABUKAI Expenses as our user base is growing increasingly global, we need to meet unique language needs. ABUKAI President and CEO, Philipp Schloter explains, “At ABUKAI, we were definitely not surprised that demand for ABUKAI Expenses would be a global trend. We are very excited to begin offering our Spanish, Italian, German and French speaking users localized expense report formats to choose from in addition to our English language expense report formats.”

We’ve updated our service so users get their expense reports in specific language formats. For more details, click here to see the entire press release. Additionally, for customers in Germany, we’ve added the break out of per-item tax amounts as is required for expense reporting in that country.

Adding these new language formats is another example of what sets ABUKAI apart from other similar services. Our position is to always be “The quickest & easiest way to create expense reports.” By constantly working to improve the utility and usefulness of our service for our customers, we maintain that differentiation and deliver on that promise.
